Fall is here! Well, almost here. Technically we have until the 22nd of September before its ‘officially’ Fall but that hasn’t stopped me from getting all kinds of excited. With fall right around the corner, and hockey season basically on our door step, I decided it was time to master the perfect Buffalo Hot Wings Recipe.
The thing about hot wings is that they are the perfect snack! Especially when you are settling into watch the big game. We Canadians love our hockey – I know, that’s totally cliche, but it is the truth- and with preseason underway, it is certainly safe to say that Buffalo Hot Wings have been on my mind.
Prior to mama life, I loved going out on a Wednesday Night for the usual beer and wing special at our favorite pub. Now that we have a little one, going out on a whim isn’t so easy. Rather than trying to secure a babysitter for a few hours on a week night I decided it was best to learn how to make this pub favorite at home.
Of course, Buffalo Hot Wings wouldn’t be the same without a fantastic dip. Which is why I have decided to also share my incredible Garlic Parm Dip Recipe. Now, this dip isn’t just for hot wings. It’s perfect with veggies and is ah-ma-zing with french fries.
Honestly, I have been hard pressed to find anything that this dip it isn’t delicious with.
The only that can make this fantastic snack any better would be to share it with friends. Especially when you are getting ready to watch any sporting event. I don’t know what it is about watching a game with a group of people that always makes it more exciting. Though I think it might have something to do with the collective cheer whenever your team scores!
Horray Sports, Do the Thing, Win the Points!
Add in a Bean and Beer Chili from Thug Kitchen and a Warm Potato Salad and you are basically set for any get-together! Of course, no get together is complete without the beer.

- 1 Cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Butter, melted (more or less to taste)
- Oil (vegetable) for frying
Garlic Parm Dip
- 1 1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese (grated)

Instructions
Buffalo Hot Wings
-
Preheat oil for deep frying, either by using a deep fryer or a large pot over medium to high heat. You want the oil to reach a temperature of 350 degrees.
-
Place wings into oil, careful not to over crowd. Fry until crispy and golden in color - approximately 7 minutes.
-
While the chicken is frying, melt your butter and then mix with your hot sauce. The more butter you had the milder your hot sauce will be (the less you add, the hotter it will be).
-
Once wings are finished frying, drain and immediately toss in sauce. Serve with veggies and garlic parm dip.
Garlic Parm Dip
-
Combine all ingredients and mix together. Dip will keep for up to 7 days if sealed in an airtight container and refrigerated.
Recipe Notes
The Garlic Parm Dip is best if it has had the chance to sit for a few hours to let the flavors settle.

OMG GARLIC PARM DIP!? There used to be a local restaurant that served this but they are out of business and I MISS IT SO MUCH. Of course, we eat Buffalo wings when we watch football because what is hockey (j/k…go Caps!) but I have long given up on making them at home. I’m going to surprise my husband and give it another go. It’s his fave! But that dip was my fave so I am SO excited. Thank you!!
You have to let me know when you try it and whether or not it meets your standards because I could seriously drink it through a straw! hahaha! Glad I am not the only who loves Garlic Parm Dip!
