When it comes to gift giving, I always do my best to give presents that come from the heart. Whether that means creating something from scratch or spending hours scouring the mall (or internet) for that perfect thoughtful gift. When it comes to opening presents, I feel the same way. I don’t know about you, but there is something so touching about opening a gift that you know someone spent a lot of time and effort into creating. I know that handmade gifts aren’t always an option, which is why I was so happy to learn about Luhvee Books.

From Mid November to Mid January we celebrate a birthday almost every week. Throw in Christmas, and that is a lot of presents to come up with. Especially when trying to make sure that each one is thoughtful and unique.
Our birthday season (because really, that is exactly what it is) begins with the Bearded One. After spending the usual few days attempting to figure out what to buy (or make) the man who already has everything he needs, I generally tend to feel really discouraged. This year, just as I was beginning to lose hope of finding the perfect gift, an email about Luhvee Books appeared in my inbox.
Now, I have looked into photobooks before and have always felt that they were a great option for creating a unique and thoughtful gift, but I never purchased one. Mostly, because I am the type of person who would rather print out my photos and make my own album adding my personal touch as I go. The kind of personal touch that I felt was missing from most photobook options. With Luhvee Books, it turns out I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Luhvee Books are nothing but personal and they are so much more than just a photo book. They tell a story that you write yourself. You choose your own words to compliment your own photos to create an end product that is guaranteed to exceed your expectations.
At least that is what my experience was.
After choosing the book I wanted to write (one for dad from our little one) it was time to start creating. At first, I was a little unsure of writing my own story. Yes, I am a blogger and write all the time, but writing to a loved one is very different than creating a blog post. Luckily they have incredible prompts to make the writing process a breeze!
I can’t even begin to describe how much fun I had filling in the blanks and selecting the pictures I felt were the best match to the words appearing on the page. Though creating the book wasn’t the quickest process – nor would have I expected to be – it was time well spent.
Because the end result was absolutely amazing and the Bearded One loved his gift.
What took about an hour and a half worth of effort on my behalf (and that was me taking my sweet, sweet time) turned into an unbelievable keepsake that will be looked at year after year. The quality of the book was beyond my expectations, and the memories it holds are priceless.
If you ask me, that is the kind of gift that you can’t beat.
Now, if you will excuse me, I have a few more Luhvee Books to go and create. I know the grandparents would LOVE to open up one of these beautiful books on Christmas morning. Oh did I mention that Luhvee has been kind enough to give me a coupon code for all my readers? If you use MILESANDELLIE20 at the checkout you will receive 20% off!
